Right.  So is the local Kroger liable for what their stock boys say….at home! 

I feel bad for the guy getting fired, but it’s fairly obvious that you shouldn’t talk smack about the company who signs your checks.  For that matter, why blog work specifics at all?  Other than to say something simple like, “we finished a big XML project today.”  And, I’d encode that by making it “I finished a big XML project today.”  That leaves you room to wiggle and claim you were posting about one of your open source hobby projects.

Bottom line:  unless you work for yourself, you have to be careful what you say.
