SF New Mexican: Santa Fe National Forest still allowing firewood cutting.
“Woodcutters can’t use chainsaws during the heat of the day. They must limit chainsaw use to before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and must stay on forest service roads.” Boy, that needs amendment, given modern circumstances. Nothing makes sparks like hitting old nails in trees … and nothing’s a fire hazard like refilling chainsaws.
