SciAm: Common Insecticide May Harm Boys’ Brains More Than Girls.
“It was widely used in homes and yards to kill cockroaches and other insects, but in 2001 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency banned its residential use because of health risks to children.” Those who were on ‘subscription-spraying’ to eliminate fleas and such in the 70’s and 80’s were probably soaked in the stuff. I remember a friend’s house who was on one of those plans … the tech would come in and splash that stuff all over the baseboards, and the house would stink to high heaven for three days.
