I got a response

from Google Images last night, more than 24 hours later, “cannot replicate the problem” and a pointer to their FAQ.  I sent a polite simplification.  In the meantime, I’m still getting torqued.  I’ve banned them from this site, I just have to wait for the next crawl.  The page they’re pointing to contains a link to one of the individual photos from the NY Auto Show - not the actual photo.  Google Images is apparently not intelligent enough access the original URL for the picture in my link, nor can they deduce the permalink for the specific post.  I should think they’d have some sort of algorithm to prevent this sort of problem (if there’s no image tag, there’s no ruddy image).

Bloody crude devices, search engines.  I now envision little Neanderthals whacking websites with big hammers, dragging them by their hair and lining them up for inspection.
