Tried disabling mod_security,
but it borks the whole weblog with a 500 error. Suppose I must sit tight and wait for the techs to answer.
Comments:
I’ve tried it, I get a 500 error. I’ve read that mod_security 2.5+ doesn’t allow an .htaccess shutoff (too many spammers used it as easy access).

did you try just adding `SecFilterEngine Off` to your .htaccess file for that folder?
