The Mischiefs of Faction: The Obamacare Case - How We Got Here, and Why It Matters.

Yes, well ... many of the Republican/Conservative thinktanks got their start in the post-Nixon years, during the Carter Administration. They’ve been playing the ‘long game’ ... something Dems haven’t been particularly good with (having enjoyed long majorities in the last century).

I just keep repeating to my conservative friends, this problem should not be percieved as just an issue of entitlement or classist since corporations are calling unaffordable health care a major issue in global competitiveness.

To my conservative friends who don’t care if our companies are competitive I have nothing to say.

Republicans had years to fix this and didn’t.

Personally I’d rather get past defending universal coverage and get on with fixing the known limitations and flaws.

So far the Affordable Care Act hasn’t saved any money, but transferred the expense of maintaining the most stunningly inefficient system on the planet.

I’m betting any increase in the ACA’s rates will make NM go red in 2016.

As bear as I can tell the ACA was designed like school bussing.
A solution so awful someone will have to fix the problem.

But no one every figured out how to get racial diversity without bussing.

I suspect no one will get the capitalists back out of health care.
Too big a pig with too much money made at every stage of care.
Unfortunately health care is best monetized by charging the earth and delivering nothing.
