The great dynasty of our lifetimes has ended.

Godspeed, Senator Kennedy.  I can’t imagine a political world without “Kennedy” somewhere in the mix.

The Onion just nails it. Too soon?

I’m very curious about the word associations of “Kennedy” and “dynasty.” Seems an interesting kind of branding went on there....

All joking aside, the nation lost a real treasure today. Despite a million ills, the man seems to have genuinely cared about himself, the people around him, and what he left behind.

I remember the magic of the Kennedy presidential years ("Camelot").  As a young child, I clearly remember the hope for the future, led by a youthful President ... it seemed nothing was impossible.  It left an indelible mark on youthful minds.

Everything since has been a letdown.  There’s a part of us, those of us who were children at the time, that feels only a Kennedy brand will bring us *real* hope again.

[We can read all the biographies and histories of Joseph Kennedy Sr. ... and in spite of the left’s dislike of ‘ends justify the means’, we have blinders for the Kennedys.  Look at what happened with Caroline.]
