SF New Mexican:
Domestic partnership bill fails in Senate. Denying civil rights through an argument of ‘slippery slope.’ New Mexico, as a state, scores around 30% Catholic. I have to say that surprised me, I thought the proportion was much higher. I’m sure some legislators think it is higher, also. However, the proportion of adherents in some municipalities goes up as high as 94%. I’m sure proponents of the bill will be looking at those numbers for next time around.
