SF New Mexican:

Cheney’s Wife Scuttles Education Department’s History Booklet.  It mentioned the United States History Standards, which Mrs Cheney opposed.  If you look at the attendant website, I think if students walked away with even a glancing knowledge contained herein [here’s a sample of the Revolutionary War section], America would be far better off.

Damn, I should be a history teacher.  I love this stuff.

When was this bitch elected? Our deficits, both at the federal government and education levels, are off the hook and Lynn Cheney made both worse here. I especially like the following line from the article, because who needs clarity:

“However, neither department officials nor Cheney’s office would discuss the episode in detail. Both refused to allow interviews with the staffers involved.”

Nothing like the transparency of this Administration, eh? As I said yesterday, I’m done with these folks. Just completely over.

I’d like to be done with them too, my friend, but in a clear demonstration of the worst tendencies of our fellow humans we seem to stand a pretty good chance of seeing Bush get four more years. Looking at how Delay is reacting to yesterday’s wrist tapping from the Ethics Committee, I can see this becoming a very, very dark time.
