What’s keeping us from Mars?  Space rays, say experts. And this, from a serious news source.  Sounds like a bad B-movie.  Cosmic rays, if you please.  The reality sounds campy enough.

They’re right: the degree of exposure to various kinds of space radiation is exponentially higher with a Mars voyage, and keeping astronauts from being cooked alive in their space-can is a problem of massive proportions.

And there’s no guarantee, for instance, that x amount of lead will be effective at all locations on the trip ...
