oh sweet jesus how short our memories are. Mr. Rafe, this skulduggery began *long* before Bush II…. Has Chomsky eluded you all these years? Did you really think ‘the system’ was going to elect a person who would dismantle it?

He opens his post by framing Obama and Cheney as somehow different entities - they are absolutely one in the same.

Do people really not see that?

Many of us *hoped* they were different entities.

Power has, historically, difficulties letting loose any of the marionette strings ... no matter how morally objectionable.

But I *AM* learning to love CSPAN -for breakfast I got Obama’s FULL SPEECH back to back with Cheney’s FULL SPEECH

So nice not counting on the *heads* to translate.

Maybe my expectations were lower - I’m happy if we can modify the system.
