Random observation:

Two more people of my acquaintance, burned by Vista in the workplace ... planning to switch their personal computing from PC to Mac.  Trend seems to be accelerating.

Comments:

Random coincidence: one of my clients migrated his dentistry practice from PC to Mac a couple of weeks ago. They thought it was going to be a really huge project with weeks of re-learning, etc.

Turns out it took two hours.

PS - Indeed, it was Vista that prompted the changeover.

Not to quarrel, just to let you know one of your blog readers likes Vista. Every time I use XP, I miss:

1. Start search (no need for sub-menus)
2. Search in any window, including Control Panel
3. Explorer enhancements: better group headings, better column options, new filters
4. Breadcrumbs for navigating folders in the address bar
5. Favorite Links as shortcuts to frequently used folders
6. Expanded explorer options in any file dialog
7. Checkboxes to select files
8. Snipping Tool for screen captures
9. Windows Photo Gallery (available as Photo Live Gallery to XP users)

peace,
mjh

I use XP at present, though we also have Macs in the studio.  Nothing’s on Vista yet here, because my system is slow enough with XP (I want a Cray).

Just reporting what I’m noticing among my social peers.
