Progress.

Well, I’ve got the mailbox dug out, so the postal folks can deliver again.  The end of the driveway can hold two cars, but I’m only halfway to my second vehicle.  Gotta dig out this heavy, icy stuff in stages.  Three more inches last night, too.  As I’m digging, I’m hearing the dulcet tones of Blackhawk helicopters going out to feed stranded cattle.  Very little traffic out and about, really.  Lots of noise coming from people with 4WD engaged on dry pavement, their gears singing out in distress at the abuse. One rather industrious and fit individual stomping down the unplowed hike/bike path at a very good clip, knee-boots in evidence.

I also dug out my neighbor’s mailbox, and cleared a bit behind their car.  Hey, it’s only sweat, right?  I’d like my new year to be a bit more optimistic and decent than the last.  Rather than starting with the ‘man in the mirror’, you could say I’m starting with the ‘man with the shovel’ ...

Did you change your feed any? Because this post is the last one that shows up in my feed reader. I checked again, thought, “That’s odd, Garret ususally posts stuff, came here to see essays and essays.” Refreshed the feed reader. No dice.
