Pinterest is getting some buzz.
Anyone finding it of use, more than say, Tumblrs?
Comments:
I’ve run across about one article a day in journalistic circles discussing the possible benefits of Pinterest for journos. I have a feeling it’s just marketing/seeding/buzz, but wanted to poll ‘my people’ to find out if I’m missing something.
When I dig into it, I find a lot of brands marketing stuff with big shiny images. No hard news.
So I’m curious as to the real benefit.

I’ve come to love Tumblr, and I don’t see anything Pinterest does that Tumblr doesn’t. OTOH, I’ve given up thinking features have much to do with it. It seems to be all about the idea of the “culture” that’s planted at the outset. Pinterest clearly appeals to a certain demographic; by being explicitly visual and building it around shopping/products, it has been seeded well. I’ve dipped my toe into it, but I find I still like *some* text with my river of images.
