Tangential: A bit of personal trivia.  Last evening, a fan of the Aniforms process sent along this video. This shows the live animated character I used to support.  If you recognize him from a conference or a trade show from the late 80’s and early 90’s, likely I was a faceless technician backstage during the performance.  You would likely remember him as “Roscoe”, the moniker we used most often.  I think fondly of those days as ‘shoving rubber for fun and profit.’

This idea must have a lot of resonance, because I’ve seen a memorable number of folks on the Amtrak here with video cameras seated on the table, pointing out the window getting a garden-hose of footage of the trip.

I’ve often thought an interesting art install would be a series of video screens running LONG loops of out-the-window footage (in stunning high definition, of course!).

The miles of endless graffiti alone are worth their own installation.

EDIT: Genius idea #54328837491710938723459: Convert a railcar into a rolling art gallery, but by framing the interior windows as the “works”. The passing scenery is dynamic, creating a lively re-framing of rail borne vistas.
