NY Times Business:
Oil and Gold Prices Continue to Plummet. Maybe so, but has anyone else noticed the sharp increase in consumer prices over the last month, in particular? In Santa Fe, at least. $8.50 for a six of Corona? Hell, I’ll make iced tea instead. Over $10 for that bag of coffee? Milk, other staples ... all significantly increased in price. Producers and manufacturers are passing on their increased costs. When gas prices hike for the summer season, there’s going to be a lot of cost-of-living grief. Makes one envy those who live in Lancaster, PA ... what must be a locavore’s dream.
