My back yard

looks rather interesting, after I did a midnight ‘tie down’ of everything that might move.  Since I replaced the windows in this join, I figure better safe than sorry when the winds kick up that way.  I’ve got heavy flowerpots sitting on folded patio furniture.

Town this morning had a nice thin layer of slick snow.  Went in for a meeting, folks were sliding through 4-ways like they were competing for Olympic gold.  Be careful out there ... the City hasn’t cindered all intersections.  Should clear by afternoon ... but it is COLD.  Wind chills are way down, I think.  One of my hubcaps shattered on St. Francis, it’s so cold.  Nothing like chasing a hubcap (that refuses to stop rolling) on a main thoroughfare during rush hour ...

Thanks for the weather update.  Always nice to know what winter is doing (I’m a parttimer in SF).

Situation was the same here off 599: one of my dogs is a huge chicken when it comes to windy conditions. He’s all macho-dog when it’s calm, but the moment it’s windy he turns into a big baby. He kept me awake most of the night because he was pacing around the house, trying to find a “quiet” spot.
Also one of my new aspens is leaning over at a 30 degree angle - not a good sign.

Oh that was YOU chasing the hubcap wink

Thanks for the sunset comment ...

Eldo gets the winds pretty fierce in springtime, so the thing that stresses our trees is heavy snow.  My butterfly bush (terribly overgrown) has cracked once again.  Shame, ‘cause it’s a nice ‘noise and privacy’ fence.

There’s nothing as ridiculous as chasing a hubcap, where the wind keeps snatching it out of your fingers.  Everyone at the nearby stoplight were blowing coffee out their noses laughing ...
