Before the days of Weber

I had those same SU carbs on my Volvo 122, and Harley had them on the knuckleheads.
Most got Weber upgrades over the years as the throttle shaft wasn’t bushed with brass, but shot into the body itself, which was potmetal.
But when I got rid of the Volvo to upgrade to a Subaru wagon the motor went to the boat yard where it was worth it’s weight at least in fish, and the twin SUs got rebushed, polished until they shone, and sold to a Harley restorer.
