MeFi: The return of beautiful music.

Wish I could re-listen to WMMR from the old ‘70’s days (teen years). They’d play album sides, uninterrupted. Beat the hell out of “Cousin Brucie” on AM.

Comments:

WMMR shaped my musical tastes throughout my childhood in the 70s and 80s; to my recollection, they played a lot more obscure material than WYSP.  I probably knew Ed Sciaky’s voice better than the voices of many of my relatives!

Glad to see I’m not alone. It was a stretch to pick them up in Princeton NJ sometimes. I’d wrap wire around the antenna of my little radio and hang it out the window.

Search for WMMR Airchecks (recordings of live broadcasts). Next best thing to a time machine, especially when you get to the ads, news updates and bumpers.
