Faux wear, but the wear reveals copper brass (see comments for clarification). In spite of the ‘poseur’ bells in my mind, it’s awfully good looking.  The price will be breathtakingly high, no doubt.

Comments:

Not copper but brass. Black paint Leicas worn through to show the underlying brass fetch a premium. This was so desirable, there was a service in Japan where you could send a plain old chrome-on-brass Leica to have the chrome stripped and repainted in black paint. Pentax’s digital MX-1 also features black paint over (heavy) brass for exactly that aesthetic.

Well, what a boneheaded mistake on my part. I should have known.  Sign of an overtaxed mind.  Many thanks, Mike!

I don’t have any Leicas but I have three Olympus OM bodies like this.

$24,500 in a limited edition of 125. I’m laughing out loud at work, but I’m sure they will all be bought up.
