I was backing up my system, with the intention of finally upgrading to Snow Leopard …
when that little number at the top left of the Lightroom interface stood out. I’ve taken over 40,000 ... that’s forty THOUSAND ... digital photos. I’ve been telling myself for a year or so, “Oh, I’ll go back and keyword my photos later.” That, clearly, ain’t-a-gonna happen. Amended my overall photography philosophy to keyword on import, starting now. And when I search for something, keyword on discovery. Other than that, I’m not going to sweat it anymore.
40,000. Probably not much, compared to many other people ... but good lord. The number just never really registered with me.
Comments:
And I don’t take that many pictures per day! It’s inconceivable to me. In 36 exposure rolls of slides (like $12/film+development cost) that represents over $13,000.00.
It surely underlines how bad Kodak’s market tanked when digital came out, and why digital camera companies are charging so much for their glorified hunks of plastic.

‘Probably not much’ egad! I’m speechless!
