Guardian.UK: Ebooks and their ilk are no replacement for libraries.
E-books are for a private, intensely personal style of reading, IMHO. One can’t just hand their Kindle or Nook to someone else - they’ll screw up your place in whatever you’re reading, perhaps inadvertently erase highlights or add bookmarks or other techno-markers. E-books are not, then, social. Libraries are.
