Wow, they really shot themselves in the foot. Here was a great opportunity to prime the Twitterbase for the reality of ads coming to the platform. Instead, when they do arrive, they’ll be viewed as a form of dishonesty.

Also, parse what Stone said: “isn’t considering an ad-BASED business model.” There will be ads on Twitter, Virginia, it just won’t be the BASIS for their business model….
