AP: Federal officials review Toyota Corolla complaints.

“Many say their cars can wander when they drive on the highway, making it hard to stay in lanes.” I can say that mine is very twitchy on the highway, overly sensitive to input compared to my other cars. I chalked it up to our constant high winds. You must pay attention to the direction of the car - that’s what people probably don’t like.  They buy Toyotas for dead, boring, predictable, slow steering. American cottage cheese responses. The Corolla is more like a racing vehicle. The steering assist needs an adjustment - or, they need to simply add a steering damper. It’s not a lifethreatening issue. It will be annoying on long trips.

well its a small car...many things affect the feel, tire pressure, alignment, road condition and vehicle loading. the car is meant to handle optimally with half the rated load such as 2 people and luggage both my vehicles are twitchy with just one person driving and handle fine with 2...you can carpool or carry around a lawn ornament........smile

I mean no disrespect to ... er ... family members who own Toyotas. I’m just more of a Honda/Mazda type o’ guy.

Then again, I drove that skanky Midget and burned all the leg hair off my right leg ...
