Anyone know a good Heuer watch repair facility? This is the third mineral crystal I’ve busted, causing ‘rain’ inside the case.

Not to mention knocking the hands off?

Dude, you need to be wearing disposable Timex.

I wish I could say it was from bounding bodily through the Outback or something. The truth is, my wrists line up perfectly with doorknobs and other features on cars, buildings, rocks, railings, etc.

The hand *rusted through* from the moisture that collected in the case from the three mineral crystal ‘breaches’.  I have a feeling any repair is going to be tres expensive ... turns out this watch has a vintage value over $1k.  Debating whether repair will be worth it, if too extensive.

I have a drawer of busted Timexes.  To be fair, I have a Seiko self-winder (without mineral crystal face) that has lasted longer and taken more abuse than the storied Heuer above. It’s slimmer, a smaller target.

I had a seiko self winder that I broke slamming the winch cover back on a land rover when I was in Kenya.

*pound* The clasp on the watch loosens
*pound* The watch comes up my wrist and positions itself so the face is on the outside of my wrist bone
*pound* Full impact on the face of the watch

I mean, I bought it in Kenya, I only had it a couple weeks, so I was out maybe 35 bucks. But it still hurt a little.

I still have it. The glass is fine, the inside just rattles.

Watches are such good wrist-protectors, aren’t they? Expensive, but effective.
