CNN: Two daughters with cancer: Is the U.S. to blame?
I’d say yes. Ammunition is filled with toxins, and Vieques was used as a bombing range for a very long time. Particulates in the air, chemicals leaching into the water, all have an effect. I suspect my father’s myelodysplasia was set like a time-bomb in WWII during his stay loading ammo ships in Samoa, after he was cycled back from the active front in the Pacific. We know he had a period on the island where he suffered debilitating jaundice - could it have been from chemical overexposure from handling armaments day-in, day-out? I wonder.
