CNet: Woz: Android will outpace iOS.
Not surprising, really, but interesting nonetheless. Smartphone ads seem to be dominating network TV here right now.
Lifehacker, best mobile writing apps.
For iOS and Android. After looking at these screenshots, I think I’d rather stab my eyes out with a pencil. I shouldn’t judge without having actually used them, however ...
CNet: Developers like iPhone, but here comes Android.
Next year, all the cool apps may show up on Android first.

CNet: Hunters shoot down Google cables.
“... Google has been driven underground by the highly accurate shooting from Oregon’s finest marksmen. More accurately, its cables have been forced to go 6 feet under. You see, it appears that hunters are shooting at the fiber that connects its vast data centers merely for the fun of being able to shoot down the tentacles of the man.” Some individuals obviously need to grow up.
SEOmoz: Google Instant no big deal.
“I was a bit dismayed to see so many in the SEO field taking this as a serious threat or even touting the massive “changes” that would be coming soon to SEO best practices or even search query demand. We’re usually pretty good about shrugging off Google’s pressbait around technical changes that don’t have much of an impact, but this one seemed to have more legs than usual.”
SEO Blog: Copywriting the SEO way.
”Believe it or not, viral marketing and good SEO practice only really improve sales and market share if your company has a product or service that people actually want to buy.” Marketers forget there’s only one ‘pet rock’ per generation. Or, simply ask how many Rubik’s Cubes were junked in landfills when the market fell away (warehouses and warehouses full).
SER: Google Instant Sending Less Traffic To Your Site?
Hmmm. Whereas I’m seeing less traffic on client sites, I’m seeing more on the weblog. The searches are better, much more precise. I’d like to think it means less sales-speak in text (less annoying repetition) and more descriptive prose about what people and companies actually do.

Everyone liked the G1, except actual buyers. Er ... ”with one-click access to Google apps; an HD video camera for high definitation (720p) video.” ... spell check much, Macworld?

GMail just refuses to do some tasks in Safari (‘filter messages like this’) after I’ve done them once ... yet works a treat in Chrome. Slower than death in Safari too - acceptable in Chrome.

I keep seeing ‘Still working…” a whole lot more than I’d like. Seemed to stop after the new UI change, and now it’s back again. May be time to do something else.
BruceClay: Your SEO is a Waste of Time Without Conversions.
“Your customers are leaving you. According to a Forrester Research report in 2009, the average conversion rate for a website was 3 percent. That means on average, 97 percent of people who visit a site, bounce without making a conversion.” Sounds like awful targeting, to me ... though average direct mail is at what ... 1.5%?
