i'm painting and listening to 'broadcasts vol. 9' kgsr ... if you remember, a booknotes recommend. the perfect background for earthy pursuits ...

lakefx is a must-must-MUST-read today.

blast from the past: january 5, 2000, "is manila the visicalc of the web?" flash forward to today, karl martino, "radio userland - the lotus 1-2-3 of weblogging." you know the old saying about 'great minds' ... (grin) ...

anyone happen to know if there are lubrication ports on your garden-variety bathroom vent fans? mine sounds like a 1903 oldsmobile ...

ny times: a quick spin of the wheel in vegas. vegas is still cheap at the moment ...

ny times: with suicide, an admiral keeps command until the end. some will argue that the action of taking your own life precludes sanity, i'm sure. but some of us will be facing rather painful, debilitated end-of-life scenarios. it's a very hard call, even leaving religious belief out of it. but i believe i want the option for myself, legal and clear.

ny times: bush bypasses senate on two more nominees. checks and balances, what are those? but the senate shouldn't have dithered; there should have at least been the start of confirmation hearings, so we could begin to judge these two in public forum. you can't leave our president a single loophole; he'll use every means at his disposal to achieve his goals.

and the new york times editorial, "minimizing the enron taint."

ny times: both parties weigh political price of enron's fall. "another reason democrats said they were treading carefully is that enron was also a generous donor to democrats ..." schumer, bingaman, breaux (of the 'blue dogs') and dingell ... all senators. with our thin margin in the senate, no wonder the democrats are not aggressively pursuing this. i had wondered.

ny times: video captures sept. 11 in raw replay.

geez, radio 8 exploded on the internet last night. but i'll leave my radio comments over on my radio blog.
