see ya in the morning.

i'll get over it soon. don't worry.

sorry. sometimes the holidays just get to me. the mass-marketing, the pushy drivers, the nasty salespeople, xmas tree stands that don't work, ugly typography on xmas cards ... you name it. i'm the grinch. i admit it. at least, at this stage i am ...

i hate christmas. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do. no, you don't. yes, i do.

nasa earth observatory: tiny particles of manmade pollution may be interrupting the earth's hydrological cycle.

freshmeat: libformat.

slashdot: the successor to popunder ads? if my sources start running these, i'll quit weblogging. jeez-oh-man.

newsforge: netscape 6.21 for linux.

well, i've got errands to run. catch ya later.

i must mention the anniversary of john lennon's passing. when i heard the news, i was listening to the radio ... deep in a funk from a breakup with my latest girlfriend. i was already heavy into depression ... it as a very dark time. we remember you, dr. winston o. boogie ...

netfactual.

i still can't get through to the times of india. they must be having a problem.

ny times letters to the editor: liberty, security and john ashcroft's message. hoo boy.

ny times: republicans break off economic-stimulus bill talks. sounds like neither side has a clue what would 'stimulate' the economy.

ny times: 300 law professors protest military tribunals in letter to congress. "... such tribunals are 'legally deficient, unnecessary and unwise.'"

reuters: the 318 billion dollar military spending bill passes. guess what? we get missile defense in the 'bargain', too. and 3.7 million in pork.

reuters: patience wears thin as the recession rolls on. as i said a month or so ago, it isn't the fed ... it's the *banks*. mortgage rates should be much lower.

*sigh* gearing up to begin xmas decoration today. begin the search for a decent tree. i was thinking about a live tree i could plant afterwards, but they don't do well if you keep 'em inside for longer than two weeks. and i have to get some clear silicon caulk to anchor the farolitos on the adobe wall (peels off after the season's over).

about 3/4 of an inch of fresh snow. just enough to hush all the cars this morning. nice morning to sleep in a bit.
